Imagine being ridiculed,
Made fun of,
Mocked.
Imagine feeling hurt
Torn up.
Now imagine being separated from those you love.
Taken away from your home.

All we can do is imagine.
But animals live it.

Not a day goes by that I don’t feel guilty. As much as I care, I know I’m not trying hard enough. I see animals suffering every day, I see them cry, I see them tortured. And what do I do? Sit there and watch. Watch helplessly because I don’t know what to do. I remember growing up, my parents were such great humanitarians and still are. As much as I love to help other humans in need, I realized there’s something I care about more. Animals. Humans at least have a voice, a voice in which they can use to express how they’re feeling. Animals can’t, if they cry we think they’re being a nuisance and brush it off. But why? Why do we treat them like they’re dirt? Why can’t we finally acknowledge that they’re equal to us. It really bothers me how ignorant people really are. I remember when I first visited a zoo in a third world country.

It was heart breaking. Like walking into an animal testing facility. The conditions were horrible. I remember seeing people throwing rocks and provoking the animals. And frankly I think half the humans that have been attacked by animals deserved it. But in the end the animals suffer. They suffer for being provoked; they suffer for standing up for themselves. I don’t feel any sympathy to those who have been attacked by animals. Call me cold hearted but they asked for it.

Recently I was also watching a documentary on elephants at home. One piece of footage still haunts me today. It was a mother elephant on the floor taking her last breath. She had been killed by humans. And I saw her little baby beside her, confused and scared. Its expression was so heartbreaking that it made me ashamed of being human. We’re a disgusting species and what we’re doing is even more sickening. Imagine your mother dying. Imagine sitting there crying and wishing she’d come back. But she never will. Just imagine being them for once. Imagine their untold pain.
