Shut the Door, Keep Out the Devil @ 11:50 AM
It's Halloween, It's Halloween.
The moon is full and bright
And we shall see what can't be seen
On any other night.
Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.
In masks and gowns
we haunt the street
And knock on doors
for trick or treat.
Tonight we are
the king and queen,
For oh tonight
it's Halloween!
It’s that time of year again. The time where spirits walk the earth and join us on this haunting holiday. My favorite day of the year, Halloween.
Tonight’s the night to let everything go, to break the rules and shout to your heart’s content. It’s the night to feel free, to feel alive and to do things your way. You can be anything for this one night, which is why I love it so much. You can leave yourself at home and become a totally new person, a person who’s not afraid of anything. It’s a night where dreams come true in a way because you can fulfill your desires of wanting to be anyone else.
I’m personally very excited; at the age of seventeen I’m still going strong and celebrating like no bodies business. I don’t care what anyone thinks of me today because tonight is my night. I can be who ever I want to be and do whatever I please. Even though I realize the spirit has been dying down over the years, I know I’ll be trying my best to keep it alive. It’s the one day kids have to themselves and that can’t be taken away from us. It’s a beautiful night to tell stories, huddle around the fire place, and best of all go trick or treating. But the best part is that this year Halloween is all about giving back, and instead of asking for candy, ask for a can. A simple can of food can make a difference in someone’s life tonight and that’s what Halloween all about, bring a smile to someone’s face.
So go out and have some fun, because I know I will.
