Help, I’m Alive @ 2:30 PM
Tragedy is a part of life.
It strikes at its own will.
It hurts the one we love
And it can ultimately hurt us.
Hurt us until we embrace it.
I was recently given a new assignment. The Famous Tragic Monologue, the big finale to the Acting Academy Course I am currently enrolled in. The performance isn’t until January but in order to truly get somewhere I had to start now. But before I started my research there were some “ground rules”, which included; the fact that the artist you will be portraying has to look very similar you to. Also their life had to have been tragic. It’s a strong criteria but, after a couple of hours of research I narrowed my options down to two actresses.
The first of the two is an actress named Parveen Babi. She was the golden girl of her age and was the inspiration in every girl’s eye. Babi had every star quality, the talent, the body, the personality and looks. She was a package of perfection in her days but unfortunately that moment was short lived. She began suffering from schizophrenia, on top of that stress she was also a diabetic patient. Babi began to become afraid of the smallest of things, the simple sound of the doorbell would set her off and she’d become afraid. Not long after, Parveen began accusing foreign dignitaries such as Bill Clinton and former co-stars, of conspiring to kill her. Ultimately this disease became the death of her and in 2005; she went missing which led the police to her home where they found her body. It still remains a mystery of her death but most say it was the madness that killed her.
The second actress that I’ve found is also a model and is named Lisa Ray. She was born and raised in Toronto within an interracial family. Her father was Indian and her mother was Polish. She had started her career from the tender age of sixteen and had nowhere else to go but up. Unfortunately she was struck hard and later was diagnosed with multiple myeloma on June 23rd,2009, a cancer of the white blood cells known as plasma cells, which produce antibodies. It is a rare disease but, through hard work and strength, she was able to overcome it. She no longer has this disease and through her will power, she has become such a strong and powerful woman.
Looking at both actresses now, I’m actually really confused. It’s hard to choose just one. They both definitely fit the criteria and it would be an honor to play either one of them. Hopefully I come up with a final decision soon because the deadlines are creeping up. But the true pint of this assignment is to really show the tragic life of your person, and to be able to give their story justice.
