Good Life @ 11:24 AM
Have you ever stopped to look around you?
Looked at the world around you?
Looked at the people around you?
Looked at someone else besides yourself?
This past Friday I was shopping on the streets of Toronto and noticed the emptiness in people’s eyes. They walk like there’s no one around them, they act like they’re all that and they think the world revolves around them. I saw people struggling, people on the streets, people who had nothing but still held their heads up high. It’s sad to see those who think they have everything smile with empty eyes while, I saw those who had nothing smile like they’re living the good life. I suppose they’re hiding their pain with a smile, trying to make it seem like they’re alright, trying to to look pathetic.
The fact is that the worlds a cruel place and chances are you will get looked past. No one will notice you no matter how hard you try, because everyone’s just lost in their own little world. Lost in their own space where they think everything’s good, they’re afraid to look around and see the suffering because they don’t know what to do. They don’t know how to help. So because of this, the poor are still poor and the rich are still rich. It’s a never ending pattern that will never change if people don’t acknowledge everything around them. But you never know people may be happy with the way their lives turned out. It’s just depends on how you see it, you don’t need to be wealthy to live the good life you need the passion.
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give"
Winston Churchill
